Lemon Water vs. Lime Water

Let's start off by saying that drinking both lemon and lime water is good for you. They both are a good source of vitamins.
Lemons are higher in Vitamin C than limes and that is beneficial for the liver in helping to produce a regenerative antioxidant to help the liver eliminate toxins.
Now limes are slightly higher in calcium and Vitamin A, but not really enough to make a difference. However, limes will help reduce inflammation!
Limes are noticeably a smaller fruit than lemons, so you'll need to squeeze more limes to get the same amount of lemon juice.
Lemon water will taste sweet while lime water will taste bitter. You will need to add more sweetener to lime water to make it enjoyable to drink.

Step-by-Step Directions

Step 1: Add the La Croix Sparkling Water to the pitcher.
Step 2: Then add the slices of lime and lemon.
Step 2: Finally add a few mint sprigs and stir to combine; crushing the mint leaves a little to release their flavor.

Refrigerate

Step 4: Now, you could pour yourself a glass right away, but trust me, it will taste so much better if you let everything blend together in the refrigerator for an hour or more.

Step 5: After the lemon lime sparkling water has had time to seep, add ice cubes to a glass and pour the water over the top.

Substitutions and Variations

To make the drink sweeter, you can add freshly squeezed orange juice.
Make this drink into a cocktail by adding an ounce of vodka.
You could also substitute the lemon soda for white wine to make this more of a lemon lime wine spritzer.

Storage Tips

Store the lemon lime sparkling water in the refrigerator.
But keep in mine, that when you add citrus fruits to any infused water recipe, you should drink it the day you make it. The rind from any citrus can make the water bitter.

Freeze any leftovers in ice cube trays! Pop them out and store in a plastic bag to use the next time you prepare a fun drink to serve.
