For the best flavor, use homemade whipped cream, but in a pinch, you can use store-bought. Try piping the mixture into the jar can help create a smooth and even layer.
After adding each layer, give the jar a gentle tap on the counter to help settle the ingredients and eliminate any air pockets.
Use clear mason jars to showcase the red, white and blue layers. For an extra festive touch, you can tie a ribbon or twine around the jar and add a small American flag.
Leave a little space at the top of the jar for the final topping or garnish.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Using a cookie or biscuit cutter, cut circles out of the pound cake. Place a circle at the bottom of each jar.
Step 2: Add a layer of fresh raspberries on top of the pound cake circles.
Step 3: Add the heavy cream and sugar to a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until still peaks form. Layer a scoop of the whipped cream on top of the raspberries.
Step 4: Add another pound cake circle on top of the raspberries.

Patriotic Mason Jar Dessert

Ingredients
- 11.5 ounces pound cake pre-made loaf cake cut into circles
- 1 pint raspberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Equipment
Method
- In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, add the heavy cream and sugar.
- Beat on medium speed for about 1 minute or until stiff peaks form.
- Set aside.
- Add one pound cake circle to the bottom of the Mason jar.
- Then add a layer of raspberries
- Then add a layer of whipped cream
- Then add another pound cake circle on top of the whipped cream, followed by the blueberries.
- Top each jar with a dollop of whipped cream and a few of the raspberries and blueberries decoratively.
