Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream Floats - delicious all year round, but a fun Valentine's Day Recipe with ice cream the whole family is going to love. Have the kids help you by selecting their favorite colorful sprinkles and fun drinking straws too!
I think these Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream Floats are fun and delicious. They're even fun to make when the weather is really hot and you need something to help you cool off at the end of the day.
This recipe is very similar to my favorite Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Soda, so check that one out if you're a love of mint like me!
While typically we think of celebrating this day of love with just our spouse or someone special, I always enjoyed making something fun and yummy for the kids when they were little.
My favorite thing to make were either heart-shaped brownies for my kids for Valentine's Day. One year I even made heart-shaped mini loaves of bread. They came out yummy but didn't really resemble the shape of a heart.
What is the Difference Between a Strawberry Ice Cream Soda and a Strawberry Float
A strawberry ice cream float is a fizzy drink made with soda and ice cream. When making any flavor ice cream float, you add the ice cream FIRST to the glass and then the soda so the ice cream floats up to the top.
A strawberry ice cream soda is very similar only you first fill a glass halfway up with soda followed by adding different flavoring like chocolate syrup or milk to the drink. Then you add the ice cream followed by the rest of the soda.

🥣Step-by-Step Instructions

Start by adding the vanilla ice cream to the bottom of the mason jar or large drinking glass.
Step 2: Pour the strawberry soda on top of the ice cream.

The kids would love helping with this step! Don't forget to add a pretty colorful straw.

How fun to make these with kids for Valentine's Day! This is perfect timing, too, what with the overabundance of strawberries at the market for chocolate-dipping. These look delicious!!
