- Ensure that the furnace is working.
- Change the air filters.
- Bring out the winter bedding.
- Clean the carpets.
- Inspect and clean fireplace and chimney.
- Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries.

- Create a dedicated space for muddy shoes and raincoats.
