If you're craving something sweet or savory, apples and puff pastry dough are two ingredients that come together to create a delightful treat that is perfect for any occasion.
The sweet and tart apples, when thinly sliced and nestled within the buttery layers of crispy puff pastry, become tender and juicy as they bake.
As the pastry puffs up, it creates a light and airy crust that beautifully contrasts with the soft fruit inside.
This recipe is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Homemade whipped cream would be great as well...just add a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar on top before serving!

👩🍳How to use Puff Pastry Sheets
- Make sure to follow the package instructions for thawing puff pastry.
- When rolling out the puff pastry, make sure you lightly flour your work surface and rolling pin so nothing sticks.
- Gently roll out the puff pastry to keep the layers of flour and butter the same thickness.
- Chill the pastries before baking. That will help to chill the butter in the layers of dough so they puff up beautifully when they hit the hot oven.
- For a golden and glossy finish, brush the pastry with an egg wash of a beaten egg mixed with a little water before baking.

➡️Top Recipe Tip
- Use a small circle cookie cutter (about 1 inch) to core the apple slices to make the rings, or you can use a knife.

You can up to a day in advance. Cover the baking sheet of prepared pastries and place in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
Most puff pastry recipes bake in a preheated 400°F for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.

- Cut the puff pastry sheets into thin strips and begin wrapping the rings.

- Place the baking tray in the refrigerator and allow the puff pastry to chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Add the egg and a tablespoon of water to a bowl and stir. Brush the egg wash on top of the apples making sure the puff pastry is completely covered.
