Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas are the perfect treat for when you're watching what you eat but still need something sweet at the end of a long day.
Something happens when you freeze fruit...they really do taste almost like ice cream.
Add melted chocolate and peanut butter and you have another easy dessert recipe for the whole family!

This is a treat that I love to make when I'm trying not to eat anything high in sugar or calories but I need something sweet at the end of the day.Freezing the bananas brings out a sweetness and taste where you can almost think you're enjoying ice cream. Well, at least I can!
Can you Eat Frozen Bananas?
My answer to this question is YES...as long as they're covered in chocolate! I like to make a whole tray of these banana bites and keep them stored in the freezer all summer long. That way I can have one or two every night when the rest of my family might be enjoying ice cream.
I know the kids would love them; especially if you get them involved with helping you make them. You can add chopped peanuts or shredded coconut too. There really is no wrong way to enjoy them!

- Banana
- Chocolate chips or chocolate almond bark
- Peanut butter

Step 1 | How to Melt Chocolate
- Begin by placing the almond bark or chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and place the bowl in the microwave using the low setting and starting out in 30 seconds intervals.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the chocolate. One of the biggest mistakes people make with using the microwave is, they forget to stir the chocolate after each interval. Chocolate pieces can retain their shape until you stir them.
- If you don't stir, you risk burning the chocolate.
- Add the peanut butter now and return the bowl back to the microwave and repeat with another 10 to 15 seconds until the chocolate is completely melted.
- In just a few minutes you'll have perfectly beautiful melted chocolate for dipping.

Step 2 | Dip the Bananas
- Slice the bananas.
- Place the banana slices on a fork and gently dip into the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture making sure to cover the entire banana piece.
- Place the chocolate covered bananas on a baking tray that's been lined with parchment paper.

Step 3 | How to Freeze Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas
- Place the tray of chocolate covered bananas in the freezer for a few hours or until FROZEN.

I would never have thought of chocolate and bananas together but I love both, so it just might work together. Jason doesn't care for bananas though. 🙁
I like the idea of 5 minute preparation! 🙂
Have a great day, Lois!
