How to Roll up Crescent Rolls
Baking canned refrigerator crescent rolls at home is a delicious way to enjoy freshly-baked bread without having to bake from scratch. Rolling up crescent rolls can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's really not that difficult. Follow these easy steps to help get them into the cute crescent shapes:
- First, preheat the oven according to the package directions.
- Unroll the crescent rolls, separate them along the preforations and place them on a piece of parchment paper or cutting board. I like to use parchment paper because they can be sticky.
- Starting at the wide end, begin rolling up each roll.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake according to the package directions.
📌Quick Tip: If you find the crescent roll dough too sticky, sprinkle a little flour on the surface before rolling.
Things you can make with Crescent Rolls:
Now that we know how to roll up crescent rolls, what can you make with them besides the obvious baking and eating as directed on the can? There are so many ways to enjoy crescent rolls!
They can be filled with a variety of different ingredients, including cream cheese, jam, chocolate, nuts, and fruit. Crescent rolls can be served as a snack or breakfast food, and they can also be used to make sandwiches.
Crescent rolls can also be filled with savory ingredients, such as cheese, pepperoni or cooked taco meat. When filled with sweet ingredients, such as fruit or chocolate, they make an excellent dessert.
When filling crescent rolls, it is important to not overfill them so that the filling does not spill out during baking.
