The quantity of ingredients depends on the number of people you're serving. For a small group, plan on about 2-3 ounces of cheese per person, 1-2 ounces of meat per person, and 1-2 small handfuls of nuts or crackers. Adjust based on the size of the gathering.
To keep the ingredients fresh, store your charcuterie board in the fridge if preparing in advance, and cover it tightly with plastic wrap. Be sure to place items like fresh fruits or spreads in separate containers to prevent them from wilting or drying out.
Storage Instructions
Refrigerate: To store leftover cheese, wrap hard cheeses in wax or parchment paper, and place soft cheeses in airtight containers. Wrap whole cured meats tightly in plastic wrap or butcher paper. Cut fruits, vegetables, and nuts should be placed in an airtight container and refrigerated to maintain freshness.
Room Temperature: Store leftover crackers in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them crisp and fresh.
Freezer: While most components of a charcuterie board are best enjoyed fresh, some items can be frozen for later use like hard cheeses, cured meats, and nuts.
Thaw: Thaw overnight in the refrigerator when ready to enjoy.
