• Step 1: Rinse the Brussels sprouts.  Make sure they're clean...especially if you just harvested them from your garden.
• Step 2: Trim the bottoms and remove any loose outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. Slice them in half if you desire.

Season the Veggies

• Step 3: Toss with vegetable oil, salt and pepper.

How Long to Cook Sprouts?

• Step 4: Place on a baking sheet and roast in a preheated 425°F oven until they are golden brown and tender...about 30 minutes. I like to turn my broiler on for the last few minutes of baking.

Serving Tips

• Serve warm from the oven. 
• Drizzle balsamic vinegar on top if desired.
• Freshly grated Parmesan cheese tastes delicious also on top of the roasted Brussels sprouts. This new rotary cheese grater works great!
• You can sprinkle with extra salt and pepper right before serving.

• Place any leftover roasted Brussels sprouts in an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator.

• 1 pound brussels sprouts
• 2 - 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
• salt and pepper to taste

Method

 

1. Preheat oven to 425°F Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Set aside.
2. Rinse, trim and slice the brussels sprouts. You'll want to remove the outer leaves of the larger sprouts.
3. In a bowl, toss the brussels sprouts with the vegetable oil, salt and pepper.
4. Place the sprouts on the baking tray and roast in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until the sprouts are tender; flipping after 10 minutes. You want the sprouts to get brown, but be careful they don't burn.

Notes
