- Oreo Cookies
- Cream Cheese - make sure it's at room temperature so it blends easily.
- Powdered Sugar - white confectioner's sugar.
- Cool Whip Frozen Whipped Topping - store brand works great!
- Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
- Milk - for desserts, I always try to use either whole milk or 2% milk.
- Chocolate Sauce

Substitutes and Variations
Swap the cookies: Use Double Stuf Oreos for extra creaminess or mint-flavored Oreos for a fun twist. Crushed mint cookies on top make a delicious garnish.
Add chocolate chips: Stir about 1 cup of mini chocolate chips into the pudding layer for extra sweetness and texture.
Change the flavor: Try vanilla Oreos with vanilla pudding mix for a lighter version of this creamy no-bake dessert.

Step-by-Step Directions
This section provides step-by-step photos and instructions to guide you through the recipe. For the complete printable version, scroll down to the recipe card below.

Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Then stir in ½ cup of coarsely chopped Oreos. Finally, fold in 1 ½ cups of whipped topping.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk the pudding mix and milk together for 5 minutes, or until thickened.

Step 3: In a 9x13 casserole dish, place a layer of Oreo cookies. Add the cream cheese mixture in on top of the cookies and press into an even layer. Spread the pudding over the cream cheese layer. Then add a layer of the remaining whipped topping. Place the remaining cookies in a zip top bag and crush. Sprinkle over the whipped topping layer.

Step 4: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight if possible. This allows the cookies to soften and the layers to set into a creamy, sliceable dessert.
Insider Tips from My Kitchen to Yours
✔️ DO use instant pudding mix, not the cook-and-serve kind, so the layers set properly without baking.
❌ DO NOT skip the chilling time—refrigerating the pie allows the cookies to soften and the layers to firm up into that creamy, sliceable texture everyone loves.

Storage & Serving Tips
Refrigerate: Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to keep the layers creamy and fresh.
Freezer: Not recommended, as the pudding and whipped topping may separate once thawed.
Serving Tips: Serve chilled and garnish with extra crushed Oreos or a dollop of whipped topping just before serving.

Cream cheese needs to be soft for any dessert recipe. So that means you need to take it out of the refrigerator at least an hour or two before you plan on preparing this recipe. You can also soften cream cheese in the microwave. You want to be very careful though. Place the cream cheese on a microwavable safe dish. Microwave uncovered on medium power in 15 second intervals or just until it is softened.
Yes, you can use Double-Stuf Oreos for the crust, but the extra filling can make it a little softer and more sticky. If you prefer a firmer crust, reduce the amount of melted butter slightly or add one or two extra cookies to balance the texture.
If the pudding layer didn’t set, you may have accidentally used cook-and-serve pudding instead of instant. Be sure to use instant pudding mix and whisk it with cold milk until thick before layering. Also, make sure the pie chills for at least 3 hours so the layers firm up properly.
