👩🍳How to use Puff Pastry
- Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed before using it. The best way to thaw frozen puff pastry is in the refrigerator overnight.
- Keep the puff pastry cold for the best results. If it starts to warm up as you work, just place it back in the refrigerator for a few minutes to chill the dough again.
- Be careful not to overfill your puff pastry, too much filling can cause the dough to become soggy and not rise properly while baking.

🍶Storage Tips
- These Danishes are best eaten fresh the day they're made; however if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a day.
- Reheat in the toaster oven or air fryer for a couple of minutes until warmed through.
❄️Prep Ahead and Freezing Tips
- Prepare the recipe up until the chilling instructions. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about an hour until the pastries are firm.
- Once they are flash frozen, wrap them individually in plastic wrap then place them all in a zip top freezer bag and freeze for up to 1 month.
- When you're ready to bake them, transfer them to the refrigerator to thaw over night or over several hours. Bake according to recipe instructions.
➡️Top Recipe Tip
- Be sure to chill the pastries before baking so the layers will puff up and be flakey!
Poking holes in the dough before baking allows steam to escape, preventing the pastry from rising too much and creating air pockets. This technique is commonly used when making tart or pie crusts with puff pastry. However, you should only poke holes in the puff pastry if the particular recipe you're following suggests.
Try to avoid adding too much filling to the puff pastry. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat which will allow air to flow around the puff pastry as it bakes. Also, bake the puff pastry at a high temperature which will promote quick and even baking. This reduces the chances of the pastry becoming soggy.
