I know it's not always easy to come up with meals when you're cooking for just two people. The temptation is there to pick up dinner at your local fast food restaurant.
Sometimes it's easy to fall into the habit of preparing the same food during the week. Maybe it's food you're comfortable with because it's easy. Or maybe you know you can get dinner ready fast.
Which is why this one week meal plan for two is the perfect inspiration to help us get dinner on the table.
How to Meal Plan
Sit down and look at the coming week. What does the week look like? Will you be home all 7 nights for dinner?
Maybe you need to plan a meal or two ahead of time because you'll be home late from work that night. Consider meals that can be made ahead of time and perhaps frozen so you can quickly get dinner on the table.
You might also want to make meals knowing you'll have leftovers. That way you can use the leftovers for another meal during the week. Or perhaps take the leftovers to work with you.
Don't forget there are printable menus available to help inspire your meal planning this week as well as a few helpful tips for 10 Essentials Pantry Items and Freezer Meal Planning Tips.
Meal Plan for a Week for Two
This is just an example of how I like to meal plan. You could also incorporate a “leftover meal” or even “clean out the refrigerator” night. This is something we do at least once a week or every 10 days.
Assign each day of the week a different category and then plan a meal according to that category.
Now, pick a side dish to serve with the recipes listed above. Side dishes should include potatoes or rice along with one or two veggies. A tossed salad with homemade ranch salad dressing is always nice too.
