What to Make with Apple Pie Filling
Many people think of apple pie when they think of apples, but there are a variety of other dishes that can be made with this fruit.
Will you go for a classic apple crumble pie? Or maybe a deep dish apple pie? There's also the tempting option of an apple cobbler… Oh, and don't forget about apple crisp!
And don't forget that apple pie filling can be used to make turnovers, tarts, and even strudel. The filling can also be used as a topping for pancakes or waffles.
In addition, it can be combined with ice cream to create a tasty sundae. Of course, apple pie filling can also be enjoyed on its own as a healthy and delicious snack. You can even use it as a topping for grilled pork chops!

Best Apple Pie Filling
While there are many apple pie fillings on the market, not all of them are created equal. For the best results, you should look for a filling that is made with real apples.
Many commercially-available fillings use artificial flavors and colors, which can ruin the flavor of your pie. In addition, you should choose a filling that is thick enough to hold its shape when baked.
Thinner fillings are more likely to turn into mush during baking, resulting in an unappealing pie. With these guidelines in mind, you can choose the perfect filling for your next apple pie.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prepare a muffin tin by greasing 8 of the muffin cups with non-stick cooking spray. Open the can of apple pie filling and add it to a large bowl. Using a small knife, coarsely chop the apples.
Step 2: Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Separate the dough and press the rolls into and up the sides of 8 muffins cups. Using a pastry tart tamper helps!
Step 3: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the apple pie filling into each of the cinnamon rolls.
Step 4: Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.
Serving Tips
Drizzle with the icing that comes in the cinnamon roll package and serve. Or you could make a simple powdered sugar glaze as well. Follow the one I make for my Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish.

Storing, Freezing, and Reheating Tips
Refrigerator: Leftover biscuits or cinnamon rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. However, as with most refrigerator biscuit or cinnamon roll recipes, they are best eaten fresh.
Freezing: While you can technically freeze leftover Pillsbury cinnamon rolls made with canned apple pie filling, it's not recommended. The texture of both the cinnamon roll dough and the apple pie filling can change significantly after freezing and thawing, becoming mushy or soggy.
Reheating: Place any leftovers in a casserole dish that's been sprayed with non-stick baking spray in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-15 minutes. You can also place them in the microwave on high for 15-20 seconds per roll. For extra moisture, add a pat of butter before heating in the oven, or drizzle with milk or water before microwaving.

Can I use fresh apples for this dish, if yes, what is the best way to prepare the apples for the filling
Lois says
You could chop the apples and add cinnamon/sugar to them before adding them to the muffin tin. I've never tried this recipe that way, but I think it could work.
