Storage Tips
Make sure the cookies are completely cool before storing them. An airtight container is essential to maintain their texture and prevent them from drying out.
If stacking the cookies, place a sheet of parchment or wax paper between each layer to prevent the icing from sticking or getting damaged. Find a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat to store your container.
Tips on Freezing Sugar Cookies
Let the cookies cool completely, then layer them in a plastic container with parchment paper between each layer.
For longer storage, "flash freeze" them on a baking sheet for 30 minutes before transferring to the container. Frozen cookies stay fresh for up to two months.
I like to freeze the cookies before decorating. Follow the decorating instructions after the cookies have thawed.
