How to Open Crescent Rolls
Depending on the brand and size of the package, the crescent rolls may be pre-cut into separate triangles or rectangles. If they are not pre-cut, you can use a knife or dough scraper to carefully separate them along the perforated lines.
In most cases, the crescent roll package will have a sealed seam along one side. This is where you'll want to begin opening the package.
Hold the crescent roll package firmly in one hand, ensuring a secure grip. It's important to avoid squeezing or applying excessive pressure, as this could cause the rolls to deform.
Using your other hand, carefully separate the sealed seam by pulling apart the edges. Start at one end and work your way along the seam, gradually opening the package.
Gently unroll the dough from the package, taking care not to tear or stretch it excessively.
What is a substitute for crescent dough?
Puff pastry is an alternative that can be used in place of crescent dough for many recipes. It has a similar flaky texture and can be rolled out and shaped as needed.
You can also use refrigerator biscuit dough, rolled out into the shape the recipe you're following.

Cover the breakfast wreath with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until the next morning. Bake according to the directions above.
Storing, Freezing, and Reheating Tips
Refrigerator: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
- 【Set of 8 Glass Storage Containers】Rectangle (35.1OZ)+(21.6OZ)+(12.5OZ)+(5OZ); Square (27.1OZ)+(17.6OZ)+(10.8OZ)+(6.8OZ); large and small containers are versatile for different use: meal prep food, leftover, sauce, lunch to go, RV, picnic, camping.
Freezing: This recipe is not suitable for freezing due to the scrambled eggs. The freezing process may negatively affect its overall quality and texture.
Reheating Tips
Reheating Tips: Reheat in the oven by placing the leftover pieces on a baking sheet in the preheated 375°F oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until heated through. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
Top Recipe Tip
- Allow the scrambled eggs to cool for approximately 10 minutes to avoid them being too hot when added to the top of the crescent rolls. If they are too hot, they will result in the crescent rolls becoming soft and losing their shape.
- After shaping the crescent roll into a wreath, carefully remove the glass bowl. Avoid baking the wreath with the bowl, as it might cause undesirable results.
- You can prep this the night before and refrigerate until ready to bake. Cover with plastic wrap.
