Quick Tips
- Baking Mason jars in a water bath is generally safe if you ensure the water level is high enough and heat the water gradually.
- Place the jars so they're not touching, and using oven-safe jars adds extra security. This method creates a gentler heating environment, reducing the risk of the jars breaking.
Baking Instructions
Step 11: Fill the jars ¾ way full with brownie batter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Set the jars back into the water bath.
Step 12: Carefully transfer the pan to the oven. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
Step 13: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Top with the caramel sauce and another sprinkling of coarse sea salt. Enjoy while still warm!

Not all Mason jars are created equal! Using a regular canning jar in the oven can be dangerous. Always check for the "Oven-Safe" symbol to ensure it can handle the heat.
Prep Ahead Instructions
The brownie batter can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Assemble and bake the brownies when ready to serve.
Storage and Reheating Instructions
Refrigerate: Store leftover brownies in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freezer: I do not recommend freezing brownies in Mason jars, especially if they have the caramel sauce already added.
Reheat: Reheat them in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes.
