I’ve been meaning to update it with better photos and a printable recipe card and I finally got around to doing that yesterday. I think you’ll be happy with this updated version of the recipe. You’re going to love how easy it is to have homemade bread sticks for dinner tonight!
But what you’re really going to love that you can use either store-bought pizza dough or your favorite homemade recipe, but I like to use store-bought because I always seem to be pressed for time and I’m sure most of you are as well.
Easy and Quick Homemade Bread Sticks
Place each twisted bread stick on a parchment lined baking tray. Even if you have non-stick baking trays you’re going to want to line them with parchment paper. It helps crisp up the bread sticks.
Serve with tomato sauce to dip the bread sticks in on the side.

- Pizza Dough; thawed
- 2 TBS butter
- Garlic Salt
- Parmesan Cheese Italian Seasoning; optional
Roll dough into a large rectangle about 1-inch thick.
Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 strips.
Roll out each piece of dough into a long rope then twist.
Place bread stick onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
Cover and let rest 30 minutes to rise.
Brush melted butter on top of each bread stick and sprinkle with garlic salt, Parmesan cheese or your favorite seasonings.
Bake in a pre-heated 425° degree oven 10 to 12 minutes or until golden-brown.
I need to make more garlic butter and use it on these homemade bread sticks! I bet everything will taste amazing.
