How to Bake Chicken Cutlets without Breading
- If you wanted to try a different marinade, you can try a blend of herbs, spices, citrus juices, or even yogurt that will help retain its moisture during baking.
- Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness. Thicker cuts may require a few extra minutes in the oven.
- Basting the chicken halfway through cooking helps keep it moist and enhances flavor. Use a spoon or brush to apply the sauce evenly.
- To ensure it's fully cooked and safe to eat, use a meat thermometer to confirm the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Yes, marinating the chicken in the sauce for a few hours or overnight can enhance the flavor. Place the sauce and the chicken in an airtight container or zip top bag and refrigerate while it's marinating.
Absolutely! Adding vegetables like carrots, broccoli, or potatoes can make this a one pan meal. Just ensure the vegetables are cut into small, uniform pieces to cook evenly.
Recipe Tips That Worked for Me
Don’t Skip the Seasoning – Since there’s no breading, generously season both sides of the chicken for the best flavor.
Use Parchment Paper – Lining the baking sheet prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier.
Use a Digital Thermometer - Start checking the chicken at 25 minutes to prevent overbaking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 165°F for safe doneness.
Let Them Rest – Allow the chicken to sit for a few minutes after baking to keep it juicy and tender.
Storage and Reheating Instructions
Refrigerate: Place any leftover chicken cutlets in an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Freezer: Cool chicken cutlets completely, freeze in a single layer until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container. Store for up to 2–3 months.
Thaw and Reheat: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes or until thoroughly heated. If reheating directly from frozen, it may take a bit longer.
