This Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cake recipe is so easy because it starts out with a vanilla cake mix and then you add delicious creamy peanut butter and chocolate chips!
This week’s Something Yummy for My Colonel’s Tummy is this delicious Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cake that I made this cake for my daughter when she came home from college a few weeks ago. You can really taste the peanut butter in this cake!The best thing about this recipe is it starts off with a cake mix! And then you add this amazing homemade chocolate icing. Your family is going to love it as much as mine did.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cake
…starts with a cake mix!
- 1 pkg. yellow or white cake mix with pudding
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 TBS unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 TBS milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
In a bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the cake mix, eggs, peanut butter and milk until smooth.
Then add the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into a cake pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Combine the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
Using a spoon, start drizzling the icing over the cake.
