Recipe Tips that work for me when Melting Chocolate for Dipping Cookies
- For smooth chocolate melting: Use patience with a gentle heat. You can use a melting pot or microwave in 30-second bursts, and give it a good stir each time to avoid hot spots!
- Add shortening or coconut oil: A small amount helps thin the chocolate and gives it a smooth, glossy finish.
- Avoid any contact with water: Even a tiny drop can cause the chocolate to seize and turn grainy.
Storing Tips
Pantry: Store your finished cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Freezer: Avoid freezing the chocolate covered cookies, as it can affect the appearance of the chocolate when thawed.
