📋Ingredients

- Cake Mix
- Eggs
- Vegetable Oil
- Chocolate Chips
Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣Combine the Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
- Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the dry cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil.
- Then slowly stir in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes before scooping out on to baking trays.
📌Baking Tip: It’s always best to refrigerate the dough as it’s easier to work with chilled dough. Cake mix cookies tend to be a little stickier than traditional cookie dough because of the added oil.
2️⃣Add the Cookies to the Baking Tray
- Use a cookie scoop to place the cookies on baking trays lined with parchment paper.
- Do not overcrowd the trays. The cookies will spread as they cook. You can see I only added 6 scoops of cookie dough to each baking tray.
3️⃣Baking Instructions
- Bake in the preheated 350°F oven for 12 - 15 minutes.
- My cookies were baked in 13 minutes in my oven.
4️⃣ Cooling Tips
- Allow the cookies to cool for 2 minutes on the baking tray.
- Then remove them to cool completely to a cooling rack. If you move them too soon, they will fall apart.

Substitutions and Variations
This Chocolate Chip Cookie from Cake Mix recipe is easy to change up simply by adding different stir-ins than the chocolate chips:
- White Chocolate Chips
- Reese's Candy Pieces
- Mini Peanut Butter Cups
- Your favorite candy bar chopped
- Different colored sprinkles
- Chopped Nuts
- You could even dip half the baked cookie in melted chocolate!
➡️ Top Recipe Tip
- Do not over-mix the batter.
- If the batter is too soft, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before placing on baking trays.
- Use silicon baking mats or parchment baking sheets on the baking trays to keep the cookies from sticking.
- Do not over-bake the cookies!
Storage Tips
- Once baked, store the cake mix cookies in air-tight containers for up to two weeks.
- To freeze the cookies, simply place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and “flash freeze” them until they are solid, around 30 to 60 minutes.
- Then place the cookies in an air-tight container with parchment or waxed paper in between each layer to keep the cookies from sticking to each other.
- You can freeze the cookies this way for up to 3 months.
