Recipe Notes
When making this dish, it is important to choose apples that will hold their shape and texture when baked. Some good options include Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, and Pink Lady apples.
If you find the chicken is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil so it doesn't burn.
Don't forget to check that the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.
After removing the chicken from the oven, let it rest for at least 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.
