I worked on music most of the weekend. We had another rehearsal on Saturday and that went great. Then worship on Sunday went well also. I was nervous, but enjoyed myself…well that is if you consider sweating tremendously enjoyable!
This was not the first time I’ve played the piano in our church. Our pastor’s wife plays every service. She is so good and she enjoys it.
We had a candidate come yesterday morning and we voted on him last night and I’m happy to report that we have a new pastor! His wife does play the piano…but I think I’ll be playing more than I have so life will be a little busier but that’s okay!
I mentioned awhile ago that we are putting in a brand new stairway and work begins this week! Here’s a picture of what’s sitting in my garage…
These railings will be stained to match the rest of the molding in our house. The builder completely ignored my request to stain them and when I came back a week later they were polyurethaned. And it was a bad job…some railings were done, some weren’t. This has been bothering us for over 5 years and we finally decided to change it. I’ll post pictures of how they look next week…that’s if my contractor ever gets here! He said he’d be back this morning, but we all know how that goes! Well I’m off to visit all my wonderful blogging friends! And a few new ones as well!
I hope you all had a glorious weekend, especially yesterday for Palm Sunday. As most of you know, the Colonel had to do his reserve training over the weekend, which still didn’t make sense to us. BUT at least he was an hour and a half from home and was able to be home Saturday and Sunday evening. Some of the men that he works with had to travel up to Rhode Island to do their training!
Olivia was away Thursday, Friday and Saturday visiting another college up in Massachusetts, so Michael and I just hung out at home on Saturday. How nice that was! When I picked up Olivia on Saturday she told me she didn’t want to go to this college either. Her reason? “They’re too strict.” Why you ask?
Hope you all enjoy your Monday! I’ll be reading your blogs throughout the day. My favorite part of the day is when I get to come to visit with all of you!!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I started feeling better on Thursday and spent the day shopping, running errands, the usual. My shopping consisted of Sam’s Club, so not too much fun, but sure spent a bunch of money. I spent Friday cleaning the house and tackling some cleaning projects that I had been neglecting.
Saturday was a different story. I woke up feeling awful! The worse headache, fever, bone tired all over again. But I managed to get a pot of sauce going, even if it was in the crock pot and proceeded to lay on the couch the entire afternoon only getting up to fix lunch and dinner.
The Colonel and I watched a great movie Saturday evening. I have never seen an Angelina Jolie movie before. Yes, you heard me correctly! But for some reason her new movie, The Changling, appealed to me. And it was so good. It was based on a true story and I just found it fascinating!
I’m sharing a few pictures of how sweet hubby was…here he is making chocolate covered strawberries to cheer me up.
I am feeling much better today, thanks for all your prayers!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, especially Saturday, Valentine’s Day. The Colonel and I had a wonderful time at our church’s Sweetheart’s Banquet. It was so nice to sit and enjoy the evening without worrying about ANYTHING! I can get use to that!
The Colonel has a four day weekend and was home on Friday. We spent the day running errands. We were able to finally get the last two light fixtures switched out in our house. The dinning room now has a beautiful wheat fixture that I just adore and the entry hallway has a new fixture as well. Goodbye 80’s brass!
Here’s a picture of the Colonel making the switch with the hallway fixture. As you can see it’s a two story entry and he had to spread a ladder across the railings…and then climb on top of the ladder and work! It was quite scary looking! I had to promise him that, “Yes, I love this fixture” and “No, I will not make you change it in five years!” What a man!
I love this new fixture!
We went for lunch at our favorite place…Panera Bread! I love their lunches. Then a little more shopping, mostly for our son Michael who is turning 12 on Wednesday! We are having a party for him today. He’s invited a few of his school friends over for a day of just playing and pizza, of course!
I spent yesterday making some cute candy wrappers to wrap around Hershey Bars for the boys to take home as a goodie. I think they’re a little too old for goodie bags but thought a candy bar would be nice. The Colonel helped cut and Michael and him wrapped the bars up while I made dinner. They were very easy to make on the computer. I actually used this candy bar wrapper idea a few years ago for a function at our church. Only then I had to wrap 150 bars!!
Enjoy your day…I’ll be back tomorrow with a very funny video!
